It’s cancelling season. Which T.V. Shows got cancelled?

Summer is right around the corner. Schools are about to go on a three-month break. Senior students are about to embark on a new journey after school. Now that all of the shows you love are going off television for a break; there are some shows that won’t be back on air forever. Right around this time is where networks make decisions on extending or terminating contracts of your favorite shows. The network does an evaluation on a show through audience count and budget. Most importantly ratings. For those who do not the process, here is how it goes. A content is presented to the network for which the network can decide rather to add the content to their platform. The content is not produce by the network. A production company pays for the content and produces the content. Later, they submit an episode to the network as a demo. If the network loves the demo, they will pick up four to five episodes after review. Once those episodes are order, it is up to the viewers to determine the fate of the content. If there is a large sum of audience from one demographic area watching the show; the network evaluates the next step. If the production price is a reasonable, the network evaluates the next step. If the ratings are great and not good, the network buys additional more episodes after evaluation.

These shows had a great run while there on air. However, they did not have a consistent audience to keep it alive. Some were too expensive to move forward whereas ratings were low to continue moving forward. As I predicted about the Get Down show on Netflix. The show was too expensive and the director abandon the show. The direction of the show was too difficult to move forward with. Even though, the show had good reviews, and draw in some fans. However, the fate of the show rested on the director, and the storyline. When we look back at these shows, you have to wonder where did these shows failed. Rosewood was a show that follow before Empire on Fox. The show grew in the time line of Empire.  What cause this show and Sleepy Hollow to fall was the new time slot. Fridays were the perfect slot for shows and now has become a graveyard for shows. Rosewood and Sleepy Hollow both got cancelled on the Friday time slot. The network move both shows from it’s original time slot to a different time slot which is why it was difficult for these shows to remain on the network.
